So I will be mainly using the blog for applying my current skill set to reworking old pieces.
The first one, I will be reworking will be an old Artstation Challenge - The Journey.
I really struggled with this challenge, especially just completing it. Just a bunch of procrastination combined with a potent dose of insecurity. I felt I had a good idea, but it never showed through to the final image. I entered the 2D Transport Category and in the end it looked more like a key frame - rather than a showcase of the Vehicle I had come up with.
You can check out the work I did for it here:

This (^) was the final image, the ball is actually the size of a multi-storey building and is inhabited by peeps whose existence mimics that of how Bees operate. I came up with an elaborate reason as to why they exist, but I won’t bore you with that .
This is all about seeing how much I have learned since this and to see if I can make a ‘success’ of the image. I was really dissapointed with how the idea is not sold at all in the final image, and the sense of scale does not work - so this is a chance to put this right. Around this time I rarely used any 3D and now I use a ton of it. So I think I can do this justice... let's see.
I have no time frame in mind so I guess this will be a little hobbyist thingy.
Enjoy.
